In these troubled times, cycling is something that we’re all being encouraged to do more of and in few places more than the city centre. The benefits are clear: we get exercise, don’t exact a toll on the environment and avoid over-proximity on public transport.
Yet frequently it is still difficult to find somewhere to leave your park if you commute to work. Central London landlord Shaftesbury has come up with a possible solution among the shops it owns on fashionable Carnaby Street. Following a unit at the southern end of the street becoming available, while it seeks a new tenant it has turned the space into an indoors bike park, ‘The Carnaby Bike Hub‘ complete with racks, trendy graphics (this is Carnaby St) and a place to ensure that the rain doesn’t tarnish your pride and joy.

It’s a simple and good use of an empty unit and a whole lot better than the usual hoardings shouting ‘let me’ that normally characterise this sort of thing.
