A Deli from rag & bone: New York
US fashion brand rag & bone has opened a pop-up store in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg, which will trade until the first week of October.
The move follows a pop-up that the label ran in the massive Nordstrom flagship on Manhattan’s 57th Street earlier this year. This one however is very much in tune with its surroundings (and perhaps with the rag & bone ethos), being housed in a brick-built warehouse which has been given a graffiti makeover.
Within, the ‘deli’ element of the store’s name, becomes apparent with green packing crates, wooden palettes and neon signage intended to reflect this form of retail, which is a mainstay of the Big Apple.
This is, of course, about selling clothing, but the idea of taking inspiration from a food-related form of retail is an idea that should set tongues wagging and, rag & bone hopes, wallets opening.
