A Fifth Store for Fred Perry in Shanghai, but Still Worth Looking At
Fred Perry has opened a new store in Shanghai, its fifth, in the Xintiandi district. With two floors, the ground being for the signature Fred Perry shirt, displayed on a grid, and assorted menswear, while upstairs is about womenswear, among other things, this is flagship territory for the brand.
The store itself might best be described as high gloss industrial, with exposed trunking on the ceiling, washed in a grey colour, concrete walls and resin floors with the two levels being linked by a steel spiral staircase. The net effect is an interior that is simple and with deliberately sparse merchandising, while at the same time having a down-to-earth functional feel.
The store also boasts a courtyard, which can be used as an adjunct to the store interior.
Other Fred Perry flagships are located in major ‘world’ cities, including London, Paris, New York and Seoul.
