Designer Ernesto Pigni has converted a public railway station building, Paratico-Sarnico in Bergamo, into a decadent and opulent three-in-one-store.
Bohem La Stazione, houses a café, chocolate and flower shop and the three areas are fused together with the various products spread across the store and there is dining available throughout the space.
The interiors resemble a Milanese home from the 1920s with black and white tiles, grand lighting, marble table tops, patterned wallpaper and Art Deco furnishings. Velvet is the fabric of choice for seating with rich colours of teal blue, green and mauve, which compliment the darker spaces.
There is also a modern edge, with flowers displayed in a uniform setting and illuminated by fluorescent lighting.
The space contrasts light and dark with large glass areas being flooded with natural lighting, yet other areas of the store are kept dark and moody with green velvet drawn curtains.
Outdoor seating is also available for simple dining which is surrounded by beautiful flowers and pots which are all for sale. The is a dining destination with an impulse-buy arm.
