Dover Street Smells Difference in Paris

Think Dover Street Market and the mind probably turns to clothing and very modish interiors with accessories very playing second fiddle. That image perhaps needs to change however with the opening in Paris’ tourist mecca, Le Marais, of a Dover Street Parfums Market.

As the name suggests, this is entirely about scent and smelling good, but equally as would also be thought to be the case given the location, this is a store in a building with a historic frontage and an interior in which a voyage of visual merchandising discovery might be the most appropriate phrase. With a broad mix of internal moods, lighting and VM, the DSPM is about finding an area, space and ultimately a perfume that suits each individual and as in the fashion stores this is a heavily curated multi-floor space where big-name brands are to the fore.

It was in 2004 that the first Dover Street Market opened, on London’s Dover Street (!) and now it is taking its first steps beyond its garment home territory.
