Fred Segal Hits Sunset Boulevard
Looking to appeal to a millennial customer in a new location in West Hollywood, the legendary boutique department store Fred Segal recently opened on Sunset Boulevard.
The retailer’s first new store in more than 30 years consists of 13,000 sq ft of trading space made up of a mixture of fixed concessions and an ever-changing offering of visitor brands and experiences. Among these is an area hosted by the US trade association, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), which will spotlight hot brands – introducing them to the LA consumer. The store will also host a gym, a café and a florist.
One of the first pop-ups in store was a 1,400 sq ft Levi’s area that featured exclusive product, customization stations and a macramé art installation. The retailer will also play host to a Fred Segal Originals menswear and womenswear collection.
The space, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, was designed by designed by Brand Studio CAA-GBG with AliceAnn Wilson, creative director, in collaboration with Mike Mankin Design and LMA Architects.
