When was the last time you had a panda guide you round a shop? Probably some time ago, but if you want to renew the experience, head to the newly opened Huawei flagship in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, China’s panda country.
This is a two-floor, 1276 sq m affair with a hyper-modern interior, but one in which augmented readily means that a panda, togged out in Chinese warrior clothing, will appear on the screen of your handset as you progress around the shop.
The store boasts five zones: smart home, smart office, sports and health, intelligent transportation and media entertainment. The transportation bit boils down to a car just inside the entrance which can find its way around in an autonomous manner and the store’s upper floor is devoted to room-sets in which shoppers can experience Huawei’s in-house equipment.
Not only a good looking store, but one that is a world away from the old-fashioned phone shop. All this and pandas too.
