Louis Vuitton’s Heat Map Store

Heat maps are things that you tend to look at even if you’re not interested in what they indicate simply for the swirling mix of iridescent colours that are involved. And perhaps for this reason, the eye is drawn to the temporary Louis Vuitton store, next door to the permanent one, in New York’s SoHo.

The store is in fact about launching the latest collection from the luxury brand’s artistic director for menswear, Virgil Abloh. Called 2054, the collection itself takes heat maps as the starting point for a range that melds performance with tech in look and feel.

The same is true of the store itself which both inside and out uses heat map colouration to ensure that nobody misses it. It’s a simple design trope, but once again Louis Vuitton has proved itself to be in the vanguard when it comes to stores that make shoppers stop and stare.

The 2054 collection, comprising 14 pieces, will be launched globally on December 6th.
