Marks & Spencer Shows Off in Leamington Spa
There’s been an M&S food hall in Leamington Spa for a couple of months, but it’s only in the last week that this has been joined by a full-line store and, in total, the outcome is a positive for those living in this well-to-do town.
The store is actually on a retail park and is a conversion of the store that was previously a branch of the ill-fated Debenhams. And while that mid-market department store may now be something of a memory, the new store maintains the look and feel of the building, externally. Internally, however, things have changed and this is about visual merchandising, easy navigation and sightlines that make this a demonstration of the fact that a retailer offering multiple category areas, from home to beauty and on to food, can still be a winner, in spite of the best efforts of category specialists.
Marks & Spencer looks to be on a resurgent path and this is an instance of that progress in action.
