McDonald’s Shows Off in Kuwait
Part of the requirement for any organisation selling goods or services and wishing to make an impact is being able to stand up against your local environment and sometimes this can be tough.
The new McDonald’s in Kuwait, the largest in the Middle East, is a case in point. This is a two floor branch whose outside is testimony to the power of light to transform a structure with LEDs festooning the building and being made to change colour as required. The reason for this, apart from looking good? Directly behind the branch there are the giant Kuwait Towers, capable of stealing the show in almost any context.
Within, this is a modern, comfortable and efficient casual dining space, but it really is the exterior that will cause passersby to stop and pay a visit. Showing off is not necessarily admirable in its own right, but when your neighbour does so, sometimes it’s essential.
