Despite South Korea having the lowest birth rate in the world, Marie’s Baby Circle has opened its second store in Seoul at the Starfield Goyang mall.
Designed by UK consultancy, Dalziel and Pow, the store delivers a brand new eating concept – a baby and parent café. Each adult chair is accompanied by a highchair, providing the perfect dining partner and finally, a personalised phone charger for every seat. The addition of the food element continues the trend of in-store dining.
The playful and colourful space features three large-scale bears from the Goldilocks fairy tale, positioned in the atrium leaning against a giant tree. There is also a forest scene for road-testing scooters.
The store contains a baby studio for yoga classes, mother’s groups and product demonstrations, as well as a digital wall for child sensory interaction. Attractive neon signs are used to demarcate areas of the store from bath time to bedtime.
Designer baby stores remain a growth area.
