Sparkling White from % Arabica in Kuwait
The seventh café in Kuwait from coffee outfit % Arabica, confirms the Japanese-American operator’s place at the top-end of the caffeine spectrum in the Emirate. And like the branches that have preceded it, this is a thing of beauty and also something of a one-off, thanks to Tokyo-based architectural firm Nendo.
This is a space that is spared the accusation of being over-minimalist thanks to the use of brass and golden hues to lift the generally white interior. The whole is built as a series of terraces, leading up to the white cement coffee bar and servery at the back of the café. Beyond this, the back wall consists of a series of % Arabica-branded linen coffee sacks, contained within white, glass-fronted boxes.
For those choosing to linger on one of the terraces, there are small round tables with brass stems that enable relaxation and the ability to admire the view staring out beyond the interior, thanks to a floor-to-ceiling glazed frontage.
Cafés can hardly be considered uncommon these days, but this latest offering from % Arabica does offer something a little different.
