Staying the night at Muji
Think Muji and what probably springs to mind is a lot of things that you’d like to have in your home and a few to wear, but which you may not always be able to find floor or wardrobe space for. This is a very time-honoured Japanese brand and although it’s difficult to describe the proposition, its fans will be quick to extoll its virtues.
What most of them won’t think of however is staying the night in Muji. From this week, however, it’s possible with a 79-room hotel located directly above the Tokyo flagship: the Muji Ginza store. The store itself occupies floors one to six with the hotel using floors six to ten.
As might be supposed, the hotel uses Muji products to furnish the rooms and staying the night is relatively inexpensive, by Tokyo standards, with everything from large double rooms to spaces with bunk beds in them being available.
And when it comes time to eat, hotel guests can head down to the first basement level, where there is a Muji Diner. It is also worth noting that the Muji global flagship is brand new, incorporating everything from books to a bakery, as well as some of the more familiar products associated with the retailer.
