Got a mask? Like it? If not and you happen to be in Yokohama, a store has just opened that might help with the little matter of how to look good while the lower portion of your face is covered.
This is Tokyo Mask Land, a temporary shop in which customers can select from a little over 250 different masks – on which basis there should be something for most people. The real point about this one, however, is that it is a Christmas store. The matter of Covid-19 may not be terribly festive, but the operators of Mask Land have decided to give the store a Santa-led theme with a masked man in red taking centrestage, perfect for accompanied and masked selfies.
There is also a Mask Bar, which means a pink wall of faces with assorted face coverings and there will be workshops during the store’s month-long existence for shoppers who’d like to make their own.
Necessity is the mother of invention and this store looks like a less somber response to the health crisis.
